Eileen KottenstettePhone: (303) 757-8300kottenstette@bensoncase.com Eileen grew up in a large family in Pueblo Colorado, one of 10 children. Being in the middle of such a large family forced her to learn valuable skills such as negotiation, compromise, and defending her position. With the intent to go into international business, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Saint Mary with a focus in Spanish, Math and Business. A friend convinced her she would be a great attorney and since she had always liked debate and speech, she decided to go to law school. She received her law degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX in 1978. Her first job as an attorney was with Casey, Klene, Horan and Wegs in Denver. She inherited 10 family law case files from a retiring attorney and her passion for family law was ignited. In 1983, Eileen began working for Tom Benson and has been with him through various changes to the firm name. Tom Benson & John Case formed Benson & Case, LLP in 1998. Eileen enjoys the challenge of family law because it is extremely rewarding to help people come through a divorce or parenting time situation with their integrity intact. She is able to use those negotiation skills learned from a very young age. Her goal is to facilitate a fair outcome with minimal damage between parties and to the children. In 2007, Eileen completed Mediation training sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association. She is in the process of adding this to her list of services to offer clients. As an active community volunteer, Eileen gives her time to many causes including the Catholic Lawyers Guild, where she had served as co-chair for multiple education seminars. This group rewarded her with the St. Thomas More Award in 1997. She has devoted time to Metro Volunteer Lawyers service providing assistance to low income families in need. She has just completed a turn as Co-Chair of the Catholic-Jewish Dialogue. Eileen is also very active in the music ministry at her church. Eileen and her husband Joe have raised three sons. They are working hard to get them through college and onto the great things they can accomplish. Two are college graduates and one is in the middle of his college career. If you are concerned about a family law matter, you can count on Eileen’s compassion and skill to handle it with integrity. Give her a call today 303-757-8300 kottenstette@bensoncase.com |
