Ronald McDonald House - Breakfast is Served (7/8/08)
The staff at Benson & Case was pleased to prepare and serve a brunch for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald house. The house is a haven for families with sick children who need to come to Denver to receive medical care. It provides a comfortable place to stay for those families who are far away from home.
Larry Jacobs finally got the technique for flipping pancakes after some excellent supervision by his daughter. We had a full menu of egg casseroles, fruit, bagels, sausages, breads, hash browns, pancakes, and juice.
The moms on our staff were delighted to be able to serve other mothers with sick children on Mothers Day.
John Case proves he is more than just a fantastic litigator - he can do the dishes too!
For the past three years, the attorneys and staff of Benson & Case have risen before the sun on the first Sunday in October, to brave the damp and cold to prepare and man the water station at Federal Blvd for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure.

We set up the tables and start filling cups with water, stacking up to 4 layers of filled cups on each table.
When the race begins, we are surrounded by a sea of people on both sides - a river of pink as far as you could see. We serve water to the over 60,000 people who come down to walk or run in this fundraiser.

Each year an amazing crowd comes out in support of finding a cure to breast cancer. They are very appreciative of us staffing the water station. We hear thank you all morning long, which makes it all worthwhile.

We prepared a full menu of egg casseroles, sausages, fruit, bagels, breads, pancakes, juice and coffee. It is a great way for us to help the families is by providing them with a home cooked meal when they don't have the time, energy or money to prepare it themselves.

Our staff got the chance to sit down and talk with some of the families staying at the house. We were amazed at their stories: from stopping premature labor, tiny babies fighting to survive, and kids getting treatments for rare diseases.
We will never forget the appreciation on the faces of the families as they sat down to share a meal together. We were thankful to be able to help in some small way
